John R. Holmes, B.A., L.L.B.
John retired from the firm in December 2022, entrusting his clients to Michael and Jenny.
John was born and raised in the Tillsonburg area, growing up on the family tobacco farm near Glen Meyer. He completed high school at Annandale High School in 1964 and received his Bachelor of Arts Degree from Waterloo University College in 1967. Upon graduation from Law School at the University of Western Ontario, he attended the Bar Admission Course at Osgoode Hall in Toronto, and was admitted as a member of the Law Society of Upper Canada in 1972.
After obtaining his Law Degree, John practised law in Tillsonburg, establishing his own firm in 1988. Areas of practice included, Real Estate, Wills and Estates, Corporate, Commercial, Civil Litigation, Matrimonial and Criminal Law, often representing several generations of clients.
John was an active member of the Oxford Law Association and the Law Society of Ontario. He served on the Board of Directors of the Tillsonburg District Memorial Hospital, was a member of the Tillsonburg Kinsmen Club and was involved in activities both on a coaching level and as a participant.
He enjoys spending time with family and attending various sporting activities of his grandchildren and is proud to be a resident of Tillsonburg for 45 years plus.
